About the event
British Columbia’s Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, requires employers of 20 or more workers to establish a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC). If you are required to have a JOHSC, you are also required, by law, to ensure that a total of at least 8 hours of training is provided to each JOHSC Member, within 6 months after becoming a member.
Employers with 9-19 workers are required to have have a Health and Safety Representative. If you are required to have a Representative, you are also required, by law, to ensure that a total of at least 4 hours of training is provided to the Representative, within 6 months after becoming a member.
This full day JOHSC course covers all components required by WorkSafeBC and provides participants with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to become empowered, contributing JOHSC Members or Health and Safety Representative.
